What is an EICR or landlord electrical certificate?
An EICR is a report on the condition of the fixed electrical installation, including the wiring and circuit protection. Landlords often request it as an electrical safety certificate. It is different from portable appliance testing (PAT testing).
What happens if the report is unsatisfactory?
The observations and classifications are explained clearly. You can then decide how to arrange the necessary remedial work.
How should I prepare?
Ensure the fuse box or consumer unit, sockets and key electrical areas are accessible. Mention any known faults or recent work before the inspection.
